Business Development Manager, Data Centre & Cloud Services

Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager, DC & Cloud Services will work with the technical and commercial staff to provide high level Data Center & Cloud expertise. He/ She will be working directly with clients, vendors and the technical team. As a DC/Cloud Specialist, the person will also share a revenue target with the Sales team and be responsible for ensuring that the product revenue targets are met.

Other responsibilities includes:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to lead and manage the commercialization and timely delivery of products
  • Work with senior decision makers at a range of major clients, articulating the benefits of Outsourcing and/or Cloud Technology
  • Manage Cloud product revenue, goals and achievement – will be responsible for tracking Cloud P & L and recommend actions to improve profitability.
  • Understand market dynamics and competitive landscape that affect product demand and direction, using it as feedback to drive attractiveness of Cloud products
  • Ensures the positioning of the company’s Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure services to align with client’s business needs
  • Gather technical, financial, market and other relevant information to create compelling products and services for the customer base, in line with company product roadmap 
  • Develop and drive marketing campaigns and lead generation activities to maximize revenue contribution of the Cloud business to the company
  • Initiate and implement sales and other training programs to increase revenue and profit 
  • Engage internal stakeholders to communicate features and benefits of the services and products developed. 
  • Prioritize activities according to revenue generation/corporate strategy 
  • Undertake other projects and roles as required from time to time by senior management
  • Develop and support effective communication mechanism between the project teams and the rest of the organization

Qualifications & Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering
  • Possession of an MBA will be an added advantage
  • At least five (5) years experience in product management, technical product sales/services or product development
  • Familiar with telecoms and hosting markets 
  • Good knowledge of virtualisation products, cloud market and the various cloud propositions 
  • Evidence of successful product launch and full lifecycle management 
  • Evidence of total ownership of a product: Support all supply chains in the company – sales, operations, finance and marketing, as a product owner

Data Centre & Cloud Solutions Specialist

Responsibilities

The DC & Cloud Solutions Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and performing installations, preventive and remedial maintenance of servers configured in clustered environments, located within a computing environment. He/She will interface with hardware vendors to establish successful integration of equipment into associated systems and provide top level technical expertise and support for all services.  He/she will also work with the technical department to develop hardware configuration test plans to support implementation efforts. 

Other responsibilities includes:

  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring maximum uptime on existing hardware/networks. 
  • Performing as needed, hardware/network maintenance or configuration changes as directed.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper deployment of new hardwares, including servers, switches and storage arrays. 
  • Provide quick and timely updates to work tickets, and provide prompt responses to requests
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency and responsiveness, makes recommendations and implements efficiencies as necessary. 
  • Ensure orderliness, maintains accurate hardware inventory records and publishes best practice procedures for operations.

 

Qualifications & Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering
  • At least five (5) years’ specific experience in related field.
  • Certifications such as CCIE, CCNA, EMCIE, EMCTA, VCP, etc. are given a preference
  • Solid understanding of network deployment process.
  • The individual needs to understand the basics of PXE booting, TFTP, DHCP and HTTP. WDS/WAIK for windows deployment is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of Linux. Any Linux, but preferably RedHat variants. The person needs to know how to install Linux and manage it. 
  • Individual MUST have advanced Linux experience, understanding Linux infrastructure technologies including WSRR, WODM, OpenAM, PostgreSQL, Mule, LDAP and WMQ.
  • Expert level knowledge in all Cisco switching products, as well as Cisco UCS and Nexus 1000v.
  • Expert level knowledge in Vmware, vCenter, SRM, ESX Virtualization, EMC VNX, Isilon SANCitrix XenApp / XenDesktop, Active Directory infrastructure technologies, Hyper-V and KVM.
  • Should have hands-on experience with Cisco UCS compute cluster, Cisco 1000v VSM  within vSphere 5.
  • Strong knowledge in all other areas of: Data Center Networking Design & planning, Layer2 network design and architecture including expertise with switching and/or routing platforms from Cisco, SAN switching
  • Expert knowledge in VCE Vblock cloud infrastructure, IaaS (infrastructure as a service) BaaS (Backup as a service), RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) cloud implementation
  • Solid understanding of a chassis/hardware installation process including changing the hardware components/configuration (hard drive, Memory, CPU, PCI cards).
  • Should have deployed VCE VBLOCK 100,300 and 700.
  • Good knowledge and ability to debug hardware problems – for example, if a node does not boot, the person needs to identify whether the problem is hardware (maybe like a bad DIMM), or the software.
  • Individual will need some POST and OS boot experience.
  • Scripting in any of the following is a plus – Perl, Python, Bash, XML, XPATH
  • Windows management (AD, DHCP server, WDS), will be an added advantage.

Network Management System Lead

The NMS Lead will be responsible for the OSS operations including but not limited to network inventorisation, service provisioning, network configuration, monitoring, surveillance and fault management support on the elements and components of the Main One network. He/She will ensure high performance of the Converged Network Services for the success of the companys. 

Other responsibilities includes:

  • InfoVista  utilization optimization, management and  integration with other telecom/BSS system
  • Trouble ticketing system design, development and implementation for the business.
  • Design, development  and maintenance/operations of Billing solutions for the business
  • Implementation of Real time Video wall dash board for but not limited to Network Service management center
  • Delivering full Service Assurance and service fulfilment solutions 
  • Overall OSS solution architect design, development and delivery
  • Ensure that vendor implementation is aligned with strategy and solution architecture 
  • Ensure that all projects managed are met on time and within budget 
  • Finalize all OSS related business processes (service provisioning and activation, configuration, inventory management, service management.
  • Participates in and drives design sessions with vendors and with internal resources.
  • Creates and maintains the Use Cases, Interface Specifications, and Functional Requirements Document 
  • Drives the technical resolution of issues arising from changes to scope, requirements, design, etc. 
  • Reviews the Technical Architecture documents to ensure all required functionality is implemented
  • Works with Documentation to ensure accurate representation of design and capability within technical publications 
  • Perform technical and functional presentations different departments 
  • Review and contribute to implementation design documents  

Qualifications & Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Computer Science or Communications Engineering or related field 
  • Minimum of 6 years working experience with at least 4 years in the telecommunications sector and 2 years in managing OSS projects 
  • Strong knowledge in data Communication and Data Networks 
  • Experience in IT integration, Telecom billing, OSS, Call Center, and CRM solution definition, design, and development 
  • Functional expertise in business process reengineering, transformation, organizational design/change management, implementation planning and execution, migration and conversion, testing and/or training 
  • Experience with designing, developing, enhancing and supporting production applications 
  • Full SDLC knowledge is a must 
  • Ability to adapt to emerging industry leading information management technologies 
  • Must be able to prioritize and organize workload, perform under pressure and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines 
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are required. 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a must

  • Demonstrate experience with project coordination and vendor management would be an asset
