Intern – Information Technology

Role Summary/Purpose:   

An internship at GE enables you to interact with innovators in your field whilst being mentored by leaders who will develop your potential through hands-on experience that will equip you with the right skills in your chosen career field. The vast majority of our graduate hires into our leadership development programs were interns with us first. We’re looking for high potential 2nd to 4th year students in Nigeria available for a minimum of 3 months for an internship

– High performing University students currently enrolled with a GPA greater than 3.0/4.0 or 3.75/ 5.0, who are pursuing their bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or information assurance

– Authorized to work in your country full-time and without restriction

Supplier Development Manager – GGO

Role Summary/Purpose:    

The Supplier Development Manager operates within the Business Development Services team and is responsible for the identification and evaluation of potential SME’s / Suppliers that can be developed in order to participate in the GE Value Chain. The role requires the development and execution of supplier development plans that align with the needs of multiple GE businesses in the Sub Sahara Africa region.

Essential Responsibilities:  

– Engage the Business Units Commercial and Supply Chain teams in order to identify areas of need in terms of the localization of supply.
– Develop and execute program strategy alongside the relevant Business Unit to expand manufacturing and services capabilities of Sub Sahara Africa suppliers
– Conduct assessments of the SME / Suppliers and the implementation of actions to get the business investment ready (if required) and qualified
– Work closely with Sourcing Quality Engineers and other resources to identify supplier capabilities and gaps and drive strategies to ensure capacity is available to meet GE business growth plans.
– Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and reputation requirements
– Coordinate identification and standardization of process, equipment, business development and technical development support as well as skills enhancement
– Leverage GE global resources to accelerate supplier capability growth to meet local content requirements and expand supplier flexibility for needs of multiple GE businesses in the region.
– Assist in defining additional market opportunities within GE and in relevant industries.
– Monitoring and reporting on GE spend, vendor performance and costs
– Provide relevant post investment / qualification support to ensure the sustainability of the Supplier
– Seek and implement innovative actions to deliver a strong local supplier base for GE in Africa.

– Technical College / University Degree (Business or Technical preferred)
– Minimum of 5 years of commercial/project management experience
– Working knowledge of GE or other OEM Infrastructure products and services
– Experience in SME or Supplier Development
– Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external customers.
– Strong project management skills
– Effective problem solving capability

Western SSA Indirect Tax Leader

Role Summary/Purpose:  

– Member of GE’s wider SSA VAT Team
– Responsible for the Indirect Tax affairs of GE in the Western Africa region
– Lead, manage and develop the regional team.
– Manage budget for the region.
– Monitor legislative changes and provide technical support
– Tax authority primary contact.
– Identify and implement areas for optimization and simplification.

Essential Responsibilities:     .
– Primary responsibility for the Indirect Tax affairs of GE in the Western SSA region – including reviews, compliance assessment and M&A support.
– Lead, manage and develop the regional team.
– Develop and apply a risk-based approach to compliance management.
– Manage budget for the region.
– Leading the team towards the achievement of its objectives
– Support all GE businesses/Global Ops in the region.
– Technical advice and compliance support.
– Monitor legislative developments and where policy actions are required co-ordinate closely with Global Indirect Tax Technical & Policy team.
– Tax authority/audit primary and Tax advisors/agents primary contact.
– Identify and implement areas for optimisation and process simplification.
– Oversee the correction of any current process breakdowns identified.
– Support any Global Ops transitions.
– Monitor, and provide active input into and help implement GE MAP and ES developments
– Review and provide support to the VRT, TKB and other VAT tools.


  • Minimum of a Finance related Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 7 years of tax experience in major accounting firm, law firm, multinational company or taxing authority.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required.
  • Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in Nigeria
