Axioma is seeking a Business Analyst to work within the Product Management team. This role will work primarily with product managers and client specialists to define requirements for research initiatives within Axioma delivered by the Research team. Currently, these initiatives include risk models for equity, fixed income, and alternative assets as well as optimization features. The business analyst will also work with the Content, Platform Engineering and Product Engineering teams as needed to coordinate dependencies that may exist.

The business analyst will work to develop, maintain and communicate project plans for all major Research projects, applied research and market commentary, infrastructure development and client support. Close collaboration with other teams across the firm is critical in this role. The position will report to the Head of Risk Product Management and work closely with the Heads of Equity, Fixed Income and Applied Research. This position will be based in the New York office.


  • Establishes a project tracking and delivery framework for all major Research projects
  • Contributes key input to the Research roadmap related to time lines, resource requirements, specifications and demand
  • Responsible for coordinating internal stakeholder groups, working with sales and client specialist to gather client feedback
  • Gathers and documents project requirements, tracks resource allocation, maintains project time lines and tracking deliverables
  • Coordinates dependencies across all groups and reporting on outcomes
  • Ensures that all required documentation and testing/validation reports are generated


  • 2+ years hands-on experience in project management in the financial technology space
  • Master’s degree required preferably with a quantitative finance background, such as financial engineering
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to present technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, both internal and external
  • Strong project execution skills and the ability to proactively identify and overcome obstacles to deliver on complex projects
  • Ability to work effectively across teams
  • Required: experience with fixed income, commodities, credit, FX, and derivatives
  • Preferred: experience with equities and equity factor models
  • Understands the financial portfolio management and risk assessment space
