A construction company with two associated companies with interest in making blocks, kerbs, inter-locking blocks and transportation based in Abuja is desirous of recruiting suitably qualified candidates for vacant position in its establishment.

Head of Purchasing & Stores (Construction)

Skills Required:

  • Relevant computer skills (MS Office)
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills

  • Basic business acumen
  • Analytical with attention to detail

Job Functions

  • After checking stock levels, draw up orders and ensure orders are authorized by the relevant managers prior to phoning suppliers and placing orders.
  • Following up with suppliers regarding the orders that have be an placed and the status of these Orders, as well as giving feedback to relevant parties
  • Ensure that the quantity ordered matches the quantify delivered if there are any discrepancies, take corrective actions, e.g either return surplus stock and obtain a credit note, or make alternative arrangements if stock is short delivered
  • Ensure that all stock received is locked away IMMEDIATELY
  • Ensure that all stock is rotated correctly when packing the store (first in first out principles)
  • Ensure that Minimum, Maximum and Reorder Stock Levels are maintained at all times
  • Ensure a written requisition has been received prior to issuing any Stock from any Store
  • Maintain data base of all existing company suppliers and
  • Process all invoices and requisitions daily
  • Assist in counting Stock far the relevant stores.
  • Investigate any variances in any of the stores
  • Ensure all reports are submitted to General Manager Finance as per the specified time frames
  • Be familiar with the company’s rules and regulations as well as disciplinary and grievance procedures and adhere to them at all times.

Assistant Internal Auditor (Construction) 

Skills Required:

  • Relevant computer skills (MS Office)
  • Previous working knowledge with various modules of accounting software is imperative
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of finance and administrative systems and processes
  • Basic report writing skills
  • Administrative skills
  • Basic business acumen
  • Analytical with attention to detail

Knowledge and exposure to COMPUTERIZED integrated General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledgers is a must.

Under direction of General Manager, the Assistant Internal Auditor is responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the monthly and annual audit plans, as well as assisting with other audit matters and projects.

Job Functions

  • Conduct risk assessment of assigned department or functional area in established and required timeline,
  • Establish risk-based audit programs
  • Determine scope of review in conjunction with the General Manager
  • Review the suitability of internal control Procedures and Systems
  • Conduct audit testing of specified area and identify reportable issues and dimension of risk
  • Determine compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Verbally communicate findings to General Manager and draft
  • comprehensive and complete report of audit area.
  • Carry Out comprehensive investigation of vulnerable areas
  • Any other duties as may be delegated from time to time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HND/BSC Accounting or Finance and partly qualified membership of arty of the Professional Institutes Such as ICAN, ACCA, and CIMA

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in external and internal audit department of 2-5 years in a well structured environment

Stock Accountant (Construction)

Skills Required:

  • Relevant computer skills (MS Office)
  • Previous working knowledge with various modules of accounting software is imperative
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge and Application of Accounting Standards
  • Working knowledge of finance systems arid processes
  • Basic report writing skills
  • Administrative Skills
  • Basic business acumen
  • Analytical with attention to detail

Knowledge and exposure to integrated General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledgers is a must.

Job Functions

  • Maintaining accurate and complete inventory records in the company main yard and multiple sites
  • Reporting of inventory financials and Stock reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies / processes
  • Maintaining and sustaining inventory levels.
  • Managing the financial aspects of the annual stock take and reviewing results.
  • Building strong relationships with Operations and Supply Chain across the business.
  • Identification and recommendation of damaged or slow moving stock
  • Ensuring that Goods Received Notes and Stock Requisition & Issuing Vouchers are priced and posted in accordance with company policy
  • You will be responsible for handing periodic, monthly and annual stock valuations and input stock count figures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HND/BSC Accounting or Finance and partly qualified membership of any of the Professional Institutes such as ICAN ACCA and CIMA

Experience:

  • At least 2-5 years in construction firm

General Manager (Blocks, Kerbs, Interlocking and Transportation)

Skills Required:

  • Relevant computer skills (MS Office)
  • Working knowledge of finance systems arid processes
  • Basic report writing skills
  • Administrative skills
  • Be proactive
  • Basic business acumen
  • Analytical with attention to detail

The incumbent wilt report to the Managing Director and will oversee the following responsibilities.

  • Plan direct and coordinate the operations of the company
  • Company goal setting
  • Overall overseeing of the company’s department and business generally
  • Formulation and implementation of strategic focus for the company
  • Overall decision making towards attaining adequate returns on investment
  • Any other functions as may be delegated by the Managing Director

Qualifications

  • To be considered for this position, the suitable candidate must have BSC/HND in Building Technology or Engineering.
  • In addition the prospective candidate must possess MBA in Business Management or Marketing.

Working Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrable relevant working experience preferably in a construction firm
