The Lenovo Services Sales Specialists position is responsible for selling new Lenovo maintenance offerings directly to Lenovo clients. This includes the management of channels and the specialist is in charge of generating, protecting and growing Lenovo services stream revenue in their territory and specially in existing accounts at acceptable profit levels.
To do this the sales specialist must build and maintain business relationships with key clients and all Lenovo routes to market to generate profitable revenue growth. The sales specialist can work independently or lead a team of sales specialists on large complex national or international opportunities. The sales specialist requires comprehensive knowledge of the Lenovo maintenance portfolio and is responsible for the success of those offerings within their assigned territory which may include the management of Channels and telesales.
This professional typically leads large and/or complex opportunities requiring a high degree of knowledge of the services and maintenance portfolio and skills in consultative selling techniques to understand the client’s business needs, design a solution that is valued by the client, and win the opportunity.
The sales specialist is required to demonstrate the client value of the proposed maintenance solution as part of the overall solution to the Lenovo solution team and to the client. As part of the solution team the sales specialist must be able to find creative services and maintenance solutions that support the total solution without compromising the integrity of services revenue and profit.
The sales specialist must have in-depth sales, business and professional skills to work with any level of customer management including “C” level executives to effectively communicate the client value proposition. Other duties include but are not limited to providing input on sales objectives and strategies, participating in client planning sessions, determining the most cost effective coverage model for the accounts in their territory, mentoring Lenovo product reps to enable their ability to quote services and maintenance on product transactions, effective use of sales support resources, effective execution of the end-to-end opportunity management process including the accuracy and completeness of opportunity records, processing of contracts to ensure timely billing, accurate revenue forecasting at the deal level, defend accounts from competitive threads, early engagement in renewals with the objective to protect and grow Lenovo presence, win-back lost maintenance business, penetrate new accounts (whitespace), and ensure client satisfaction and growth in the Lenovo market share.
This position is associated with the X86 business, which is being divested to Lenovo and will operate as a new company. The successful candidate for this role may be hired or transferred to a position within the Lenovo business. Closing of the divestiture in a specific country is subject to applicable regulatory clearances, local agreements, and the completion of required information and consultation processes, as applicable. When the divestiture transaction closes in the applicable country, depending on the local legal environment and management decision the candidate will either transfer automatically to Lenovo in accordance with the processes and practices applicable to other transferring IBM employees or receive a job offer directly from Lenovo.
